The DIRONDAL® Design: progress without corners and edges! A new design of a needle holder with softly contoured edges in the area of the mechanical closure provides for considerable functional improvements. Contrary to conventional needle holders, the DIRONDAL® instrument prevents wound tissue or suture threads from getting caught, as it permits sutures, wound margins and tissue edges to slide across the flowing design of the instrument. The absence of sharp interior angles minimizes, in addition, the danger of breakage and enhances the flexibility of the instrument. The rounded shape of the edges provides no chance for dirt to deposit, so that the needle holder is easy to clean and sterilize.
